Our Certified Chemistry Plate, called LB/Coburn CCP, is the high-quality, lower-cost plate product that's a cut above the rest. Now you can get quality plate at a highly competitive rate from a name you know and trust.
With so many costs affecting your bottom line, there is no reason to buy prime plate when LB/Coburn CCP can do the job without sacrificing the quality of your finished product.
Our customers report savings from 10 to 40% when using Certiified Chemistry Plate instead of raw prime sheets. LB Steel manages to do this by buying railcar loads of overruns from major mills. At any one time, we will have in excess of 5,000 plates (30 million pounds) of various plate catagories on hand. Since we maintain such a high volume of stock, we're able to meet most any surface, chemistry or final mult specifications quickly and cost-effectively.
Our customers who report higher savings achieve this by having LB burn to size, or perform basic machining and fabrication of their sub-assemblies. You save on transportation, storage and selling of what will become scrap (cutoffs.) The pallets with the semi-finished or finished assemblies are ready to be moved directly to your production line.

At LB/Coburn, all incoming plate undergoes a ten-point inspection process to identify
critical characteristics and verify quality. Next, in-house metallurgists complete
a 13-element analysis on every plate and certify the chemical composition in writing.

We stock a broad selection of plate, ranging in thickness from 1/2" to 10". Chose from more than 20,000 tons of steel plate, available in a variety of pattern sizes, as well as random widths and lengths. All inspected plate is stored inside so it's quickly and easily accessible.
